Nisha Thakker, JD, Policy Associate

Nisha Thakker joined the Washington, DC Legal Action Center team as Policy Associate after completing her JD at American University’s Washington College of Law (WCL). While at WCL, she co-founded, and continues to direct, the National Youth Justice Alliance – a program that seeks to educate juveniles in detention about their Constitutional rights and responsibilities. Prior to attending law school, Nisha worked in the press offices of the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She obtained her B.A. in English from the George Washington University in 2003. Nisha has published articles in the Sustainable Development Law and Policy Journal at WCL and the ABA Commission on Law and Aging Bifocal Newsletter.
